Where my Journey of Faith Began

As a child growing up in church I remember being dropped off at Sunday school, then my parents and grandparents would go into the big church. I thought at the time that Sunday school was just a place for me to go while my parents went to church. I made a few friends there, we had fun and learned different things about the bible. It never hit me that Sunday School was not just a place to get dropped off, but it was a place that kids could learn the same thing that the adults were learning, but just in a language that I could understand until this happened.

One particular Sunday school class… changed my life forever!
At age 6 or 7 I remember hearing a Bible story that our Sunday school teacher taught our class about David and Goliath. She made the story seem so real, she spoke with passion as if she really believed that this happened. She spoke of God and how he gave David the boldness and strength to slay the giant.I was mezmorized and in awe. I wanted to be like David!  It was the first time I had ever really listened and grasp the term, “Faith”. Not that I had never heard it before but it finally sunk in. I remember my Sunday school teacher telling the class that we all can access the same God through faith just as David did if we just believed.

As I left the class that day I was forever changed. I would begin my journey of faith.

When I reflect back to that moment of belief, I can still feel the power that all of a sudden came inside of me. I felt that I had access to a powerful God that was my best friend. Now I am 35 years old and I know that that power is real and still living inside of me today. If it was not for the Holy Spirit living in me I would not be writing this blog today. I would not have had the exciting life that I have had watching Him work through me and for me. Looking back on my life since that moment in Sunday School I will tell you that my life has been everything but dull.

I have had many good days and many bad days, but through the good days and the bad days He has been with me every second of every day and has made my life experience a journey of Faith.

I know now without a shadow of a doubt that the same power that lives in me and all who believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ is the same power that delivered Daniel from the Lions Den. That same power is the same power that parted the sea for Moses. That same power is the one that opened the eyes of the blind, made the lame to walk and dumb to talk.  It is the same power that took away the sin of the world! We all can have access to this power called the Holy Spirit if we put our trust in Jesus Christ and what he did on Calvary.

No matter what you have done or how many times you have done it, your sins can be erased in the blink of any eye because of what Jesus done on the cross.

Isaiah 53:5 says, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

It is done, completed, finsihed! There is nothing else that we need to do to earn salvation and eternal life other than believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified. That’s it! No more no less.

Are you ready to make that decision? Are you ready to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life and live with His power inside of you? Are you ready to begin your journey of Faith? If so, please just say this prayer and believe it with your heart and you will be saved at this moment. The bible says in Romans 10:13 “Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ. I am a sinner in need of a savior. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my life and save my soul.  I believe that You came to this earth and died on the Cross for my sins. I believe that you rose from the dead on the 3rd day. You did all of this so I could be saved and have eternal life with our Father God in heaven. From this day forward I make You the Lord of my life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and may the rest of my days here on earth be lived to bring glory to you. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
