There is no one righteous, no not one.
Romans 3:23 tells us that we are all spiritually lost and in need of salvation. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” In other words, mankind is seperated from God forever because of our sin nature. There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation because it is our very nature to sin. We are not lost because we sin. We will never stop sinning completely. It is because of our sinful nature that we are born into from birth. It is the core of our being. Because of our sinful state we fall short of God’s glory. One day we will all stand in front of Him and he will give a verdict. We will either be guilty or not guilty. The guilty will spend eternal life in a place called hell, where the fire is not quenched. The bible says there will be weeping and nashing of teeth. In other words, it is a horrible place that you do not want to go… If you dont like that option then we have to find a way out. The problem is that even our best deeds cannot save us. Our best behavior and most righteous acts are like filthy rags in the Lords eyes. There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation. God is not going to look at our lives to see how great of a life we lived. He is not impressed by our good deeds. When we realize that we have absolutley nothing to give God that will earn our salvation. Matthew 5:3 teaches this,” blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” The word “poor” in the Greek means,” totally destitute” or “utterlly impoverished.” In other words, to have absolutley nothing to give or to have nothing.
So how do we make it to heaven?
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not persish but will have everlasting life.” In other words, God knew that we couldn’nt do anything to be reunited with Him because of our sinful nature so He had to send someone who was perfect and without sin to be a sacrifice for us. So He came down to earth and became a man just like us.2 Corinthians, 5:21,”God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Now that Jesus was on earth, He would live here and set an example for 33 years without any sin and then to be crucified on a cross because of who he claimed to be. He woud be our sacrifice that is exceptable to God. Isaiah 53:5 says, “But he was wounded for our transgresisons, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
We can now be reunited with God through his son Jesus and what he did on the cross. If we believe that Jesus died for our sins, we are saved through his blood.Ephesians 2:8-9 says,”For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.”
When God looks down upon us now, he sees Jesus, not ourselves. If we believe. I know it sounds too good to be true. That is what makes it so great. It is true.Romans 10:9 says,”if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
If you want to receive Christ then repeat this prayer and you will be saved and on your way to heaven.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ. I am a sinner in need of a savior. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my life and save my soul. I believe that You came to this earth and died on the Cross for my sins. I believe that you rose from the dead on the 3rd day. You did all of this so I could be saved and have eternal life with our Father God in heaven. From this day forward I make You the Lord of my life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and may the rest of my days here on earth be lived to bring glory to you. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
