Have Faith and Never Give Up

Deuteronomy 7:17-18, “You may say to yourselves, “These nations are stronger than we are. How can we drive them out?” But do not be afraid of them; remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt.

The Israelites faced many challenges that seemed way too big for them. They did not see how they ever were going to ever be free from slavery or much less drive out huge nations to get to the promise land. The challenges that they would have to face and overcome would be impossible without the help of God. But God made a way each and every time and fought their battles for them because they were his chosen people and He loved them. It wasn’t done in a way that they would have planned but He made a way because they didn’t give up, they kept on walking. It was never easy for them. They did not get there without getting some cuts and bruises or without having to fight harder than they ever thought they would have to but they did make it and the promise land was better and sweeter than anyone could have ever dreamed. They had faith and never gave up!

You may be facing something that is much stronger and bigger than you are. If not now, then trust me you will one day. You may be looking at an ocean that you do not know how you are going to cross, or a army of obstacles that is much bigger than you can defeat. Maybe you have been fighting a battle for a long time and feel like you are losing or that you can’t win. Let me encourage you to keep going trust in the Lord and don’t give up. God will make a way in His perfect timing. He knows exactly what you are facing and He knows how you will get past it. You can trust that He knows what tomorrow holds and the plans that He has for you is better than yours.

Think about how far you have come. Hasn’t the Lord provided a way so far? He has brought you here and he has his hand on you, watching over you. When you are in the darkest of valleys He is the closest. Call out to Him and listen for His voice. Don’t listen to the world, don’t listen to yourself, listen to God. If you can’t hear Him, then get rid of distractions, selfish desires and the complexity of life. Go back to the basics; simplify, pray, read the Bible, listen, and fight with everything you have.

You may not realize how strong you are. You may not realize the power that is within you. If you did, then you would get back up and keep fighting. The enemy may have blackened your eye or knocked you down but it has not won. The battle you are facing is just making you stronger than before. You will win and you will do greater things than ever before. Think about this: if God was not planning to use you in a big and powerful way then the enemy would leave you alone. You are in a perfect place for God to use you for His glory. As a matter of fact, I would be worried if things were going smooth all of the time.

Now when a battle comes your way just know that a blessing is coming after the battle is over. Battles of life is a way of strengthening our faith in God. God does not want us to stay where we are at in our faith, He wants us to grow closer to Him. Just remember, giving up is not an option. Commit to fighting through adversity, have faith and don’t ever give up.

Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”

Have a great day and God Bless.

  1. One of my favorite verses. I actually have this up in my office where I can see it every day. Though your family life may be the epitome of perfection, once you leave your house, all craziness ensues. Keep the faith. Stay strong. And believe in God.
