The #1 Thing That Could Be Holding You Back.

What is holding you back from doing the things that you want to do, saying the things that you want to say, and most importantly being the person that you know you can be? Think about it.

Many people blame other people or things, such as money, time, lack of this or that, etc.. The truth is, you have everything you need right now in order to live your life to the fullest or the way that God intended you to be. You and I don’t need anything else to make us feel more alive if we can decide to do one thing. This one thing will take you places that you never dreamed you could go and do things you never dreamed you could do. Anyone that has ever really experienced a high life without the drugs has done this one thing.

People that wake up in the morning with a sense of purpose and excitement do this one thing. I am so confident that this one thing could be the piece that you are missing, that leads you to where you dream to be in this life.

Okay, I won’t leave you hanging any longer. This thing is called vulnerability. Yep! Lack of vulnerability stops most people from accomplishing their dreams and being who they want to be. Especially in this day and time, where most everyone wants to give their opinion on everything. There is nothing we can do about these folks other than give them something to talk about.

Most of us do not want to be vulnerable and put ourselves out there so people can see us for who we are because of fear of being judged by others. This is really catastrophic and unfortunate because we all have a lot to give to the world and the world needs each of us to step up and be who we are.

Think about this: People like seeing others being vulnerable but we do not like to do it ourselves. We see people come alive when they are vulnerable, but we refuse to do it, even when we know that this is what we need to do in order to feel alive.

Here’s why? Because being vulnerable and feeling alive often feels like fear. It feels like unworthiness or like things are spinning out of control. Have you ever had this feeling?

Many people never get to accomplish their dreams because they do not get past fear, feeling unworthy, and always wanting control of the situation. The problem with this is that until we overcome these things we will not ever get to where we want to go. In other words our success is just on the other side of fear. Being able to love others for who they are is on the other side of loving who we are and feeling worthy ourselves. The life that you have always wanted to live is on the other side of you letting go.

We can only do this by being vulnerable. In other words, putting ourselves out there for the world to see who we are and what we have to say, at the same time not worrying about the results of having victory or defeat. Deciding that we are gonna believe in ourselves regardless of what anyone says.

God put something inside of each of us that we have to offer the world and we have to put it to work. It is what will make you come alive like never before. It is also what will make others come alive because when we are vulnerable, we are inspiring. We often do not feel it, but others do. Just like, we feel inspired when others are vulnerable.

Now, I want to encourage you to start being vulnerable today! Become comfortable being uncomfortable. Do the things that you fear. Most importantly, learn to love yourself so you can love others. You have something to offer the world that no one else does.

2 Corinthians 6:11-13, We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide open. You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections. In return (I speak as to children) widen your hearts also.

Have a great day and God Bless.

  1. Oh, I absolutely love this! And it is very, very true. Too many people do not want to be seen as imperfect….but that’s what we are. And we can only perfect ourselves by learning from our mistakes and knowing and accepting our flaws. And when you are given a God-given talent for something, who are you to waste it because you’re afraid of being afraid? Great post. 🙂
